Tropical Fruity Fun Day
As this year’s theme is tropical fruity beverages and we are in the tropics the time has come to get serious about our goals.
Today we compiled a list and followed through.
All that is to say it was try-lots-of-drinks day.
Above is the drink of the day for David (Sweet Devil) and a sparkling lemonade for me.
We were in and out a lot today, feeling our impending departure and wanting to fit things in.
Every time I went outside my glasses fogged up from the AC-to-tropical heat transition.
We did my tattoo photo shoot, with great light, and sent images off to both the designer and tattoo artist.
We, of course, went to the giant buffet for breakfast.
We even discovered that there is a coffee of the day.
Today it was Carmel Crunch Frappuccino.
But our real pursuit was the tropical fruity beverage. I had a couple of lists with names like Top Ten Essential Tropical Cocktails and we had the bar menus so we just started working our way through.
I say we,but I don’t drink so for me it was more like an Easter egg hunt and for David it was more like a poolside bar crawl. Above you see the Bugambilia.
The Blue Hawaii
The Caribbean Breeze (too much artificial banana) was the only real miss. Due to some combination of David is big and of German extraction and All Inclusive Resorts have light pours, nothing really slammed him.
He got gently buzzy by the 4th drink and stopped for a bit but this was never a scene of drunken debauchery.
In between finding and trying drinks we tried out some of the Dreams Flora entertainment. We played air hockey and tried to play video games at the arcade. Most of the machines were either off or not working and we didn’t feel it was worth it to find someone to fix things, so that was promising but a bust.
We met Chris and Pammy at the water park. This was hot but fun. I dig a water slide.
Poor David got his knee wrenched on a too hot entry into the water at the bottom of one of them. It was still sore by the end of the day so I hope it will be ok.
Not very picturesque or scintillating for the blog but I took a nap.
That was great!
I’m an excellent napper but it’s very rare indeed that I get one.
David played chess and I konked right out.
In the evening we got dressed up and met Chris and Pammy for dinner at the steakhouse.
I’m loving all these dress up dates.
I got a roasted cauliflower with hummus. It was nice and garlicky and tangy.
Then Pammy and I split some Nutella cake. It was prettier than it was tasty. We decided that we should have more cake so after a brief stopover at their room to try some local rum, off we went to the buffet to try the million and one desserts.
I had some very nice cheese at this point.
We headed back to our room for showers and old movies (Beverly Hills Cop 2) and tried on the hotel robes and slippers.
A fun day to be sure.
